Little Tikes Crashing Waves Water Park Review

Little Tikes Crashing Waves Water ParkWe debated quite a bit on getting one of these (and which model) for our kids.In the end we settled on this one (tho mainly because we could find it locally thus avoid shipping charges), and since most of the families in the neighborhood have play gyms in the backyard and we never see any of them being used, we figured this will be a unique experience every time we bring it out.

Our two kids (6 and 3) love it an it's perfect for a hot day. Some reviews here are critical on it's set up, take down, and storage.I find none of this a real problem.Set up is a matter of unrolling it, and hooking up the fan and the tubes which supply water to the slide and cannon.I have the hose filling up the pool as it inflates and while I stake it down. This doesn't take long at all and gives the pool just enough to make it fun - the pool will fill during the course of play.We also have the hose just barely on - enough so the cannon's natural water reach is just inside the pool. This adds to the pools water supply rather than watering the lawn (which will happen at take down).

Take down is easy as well.Turn off the fan and let the water drain as the sides collapse. The only real annoyance is waiting for it to dry - you don't want it going moldy while in storage. We don't wait for complete dryness, tho we will at the end of the season.

A lot of people complain that the bag isn't big enough.I don't understand this - the bag is perfectly sized. You can't just cram the thing in the bag.You need to roll it up tightly and squeeze out the air. This takes all of five minutes to do.Coil up the tubes and collect the spikes in a zip bag and shove them in and you're done. Those who don't wish to deal with this might want to pick up a christmas tree bag this winter to store it in.

Another review complained that after a few uses it didn't appear as sturdy. This is normal, and says so in the instructions and on the slide. The air pressure and weight of the kids naturally provide stress on the seams, which creates minor leakage. While it doesn't hold my 170lbs as strongly as it did the first time I climbed in it, it certainly still can, and it has no problem holding several 40lb kids.

All in all a great toy, the envy of the neighborhood kids, and destined to provide several years of summer fun (provided you have enough space in your yard!)

Little Tikes Rocky Mountain River Race Review

Little Tikes Rocky Mountain River RaceI researched all kinds of these before finally deciding on this one. This one had the best ratings!! I had decided to order it and then lucked out and found it at wal mart on sale for $300.So I bought it.It really wasn't hard to set up at all.The only thing is it is very heavy.Yes, the blower constantly blows to keep the waterslide inflated and this means you need to have it plugged it in.But the neat thing is, its pretty self-contained.There's not a lot of running around outside the slide because they come down the slides into the wading pool and go right back up the center. They don't have to get out very much which also saves from them dragging grass clippings into the water. We've only had this since July 4th, 2009, but it seems very durable and what fun!! My 3 year old grandson played so much on it all weekend. The box says its rated for 350 lbs. But I'd think that might be a bit hard on it but it also means its great for holding several kids at a time. The other thing is you have to continually run the water to it to keep it wet.It would be neat if you could recirculate the water but you can't.We are able to hook the hose up to warm and cold water so the kids really like! Yes we did run out of hot water but we adults had lots of fun just watching the kids play too!Its well worth it!Once you unplug the blower, it goes flat in several minutes. They recommend getting all the water out then turn the blower on to inflate it and let it dry out good before you put it away.It comes with a storage bag but i have no idea how you'd ever get it into that.It is quite heavy! We used a big box when we took it down to put it away during the week when we aren't around as much!I think at first my husband thought I was crazy and after seeing the kids on it for 15 minutes they all told me I'd done good.. its awesome!!At this time I have no regrets about buying this!

Little Tikes Slam 'N Slide Review

Little Tikes Slam 'N SlideI bought this for my daughter's 4th bday party. The children played on it 5 hours! It held up great. The pool area was great for the toddlers at the party. My only problem was water got inside it, which is normal since there are small holes in the seams of the float. (note: the small holes are supposed to be there to let air come out of the float.)So it was hard to get the water out and dry it out. After 2 days, we crossed our fingers hoping we dried it well enough, and stored it away.

UPDATE: July 2008We pulled the slide out again this year.Minimal "molding" from putting the slide away slightly damp.Scrubbed it with soap and water and set it up.The sun cleaned it right up and the kids played another solid 5 hours on it.We didn't turn the water on as high this year and that helped keep so much water from getting inside the slide.Dried it out for 4 days in our garage. It was completely dry and folded up nicely.I am happy to be getting my monies worth from this slide. The price I paid for it was the same price to rent a slide for one afternoon. Now I've used it 2 years... going for a 3rd next year!

Little Tikes Slam N Curve Water Slide Review

Little Tikes Slam N Curve Water SlideWe bought an older version of this model over two years ago.My boys, now 5 and 8, have spent endless hours on this slide. They are pretty rough on it, and it has held up great! They have had their friends on it too with no problems.I have other friends who own different water slides and mine has outlasted theirs. One of the best features is the pool that collects water at the bottom. This is a lot of fun, plus it prevents a muddy area from developing while you kids are playing.Another reviewer complained about the pump having to be on the whole time. But, as with any moonwalk or large blow up slide, this is always the case. This is a pretty large slide and requires constant air.Its also pretty quick to set up and I do it all my self.We have really enjoyed our slide and gotten our moneys worth out of it.I have had no problems so far.
