Little Tikes Crashing Waves Water Park Review

Little Tikes Crashing Waves Water ParkWe debated quite a bit on getting one of these (and which model) for our kids.In the end we settled on this one (tho mainly because we could find it locally thus avoid shipping charges), and since most of the families in the neighborhood have play gyms in the backyard and we never see any of them being used, we figured this will be a unique experience every time we bring it out.

Our two kids (6 and 3) love it an it's perfect for a hot day. Some reviews here are critical on it's set up, take down, and storage.I find none of this a real problem.Set up is a matter of unrolling it, and hooking up the fan and the tubes which supply water to the slide and cannon.I have the hose filling up the pool as it inflates and while I stake it down. This doesn't take long at all and gives the pool just enough to make it fun - the pool will fill during the course of play.We also have the hose just barely on - enough so the cannon's natural water reach is just inside the pool. This adds to the pools water supply rather than watering the lawn (which will happen at take down).

Take down is easy as well.Turn off the fan and let the water drain as the sides collapse. The only real annoyance is waiting for it to dry - you don't want it going moldy while in storage. We don't wait for complete dryness, tho we will at the end of the season.

A lot of people complain that the bag isn't big enough.I don't understand this - the bag is perfectly sized. You can't just cram the thing in the bag.You need to roll it up tightly and squeeze out the air. This takes all of five minutes to do.Coil up the tubes and collect the spikes in a zip bag and shove them in and you're done. Those who don't wish to deal with this might want to pick up a christmas tree bag this winter to store it in.

Another review complained that after a few uses it didn't appear as sturdy. This is normal, and says so in the instructions and on the slide. The air pressure and weight of the kids naturally provide stress on the seams, which creates minor leakage. While it doesn't hold my 170lbs as strongly as it did the first time I climbed in it, it certainly still can, and it has no problem holding several 40lb kids.

All in all a great toy, the envy of the neighborhood kids, and destined to provide several years of summer fun (provided you have enough space in your yard!)
